Episode 8: Planting Song [Video Post]
[Click. The video feed is switched on with the light bump of the table the communicator was sitting on, and Flonne can be heard singing cheerfully off screen.]
♫ I took a little seed one day
I put it in a pot of dirt
In hopes that it would grow...
[At the end of the stanza, she can be seen stepping in front of the camera's view. She is carrying the pot of the plant she received as a Christmas gift firmly in between her two little hands. Carefully, she walks it over to one of the windows in the living room and sets it down on the floor.]
I poured a little water
To make the soil just right.
I set the pot upon the sill
Where the sun would give it light...
[As she sings, she walks back out of the view of the camera, coming back in shortly after with a small chipped glass of water held in one of her hands. She tips the glass, gingerly pouring the water over the soil.]
I checked the pot most every day,
And turned it once or twice.
With a little care and water
I helped it grow so nice. ♫
[At the end of the song, she giggles and sits down next to the pot. Flonne gently pokes at one of the leaves with a smile. The plant has already sprouted several pretty white blossoms.]
There! Now I bet that you feel even better now, huh, Mr. Flower? Continue to grow up healthy and strong, okay?

Do you like them? It's funny... These flowers look very similar to the lilies that I used to see in Celestia all the time.

Celestia?

It's where I used to live. Um... The closest thing you could compare it to would be the image of Heaven that most humans have.

But there are also lots of floating islands.

[Action]
Flonne... get rid of it.
[Action]
Wh-... What was that? D-did the burglar from before come back to raid the kitchen again?!
[After a few minutes, she swallowed hard and mustered up her courage the best that she could, shakily pushing herself up to stand. Then, when she's about to make a dash around the corner to get a closer look-- Oh. Laharl, you're awake!]
[The Fallen Angel blinks back at him and that intense look of his, wearing a worried expression of her own.] Laharl...? Is something the matter?
[Action]
Kill... the flower. Or give it to me, so I can torch it...
[Action]
[She turns her head to look past her shoulder at the flower, and then back to Laharl. Throwing her arms out defensively in front of it, Flonne stands firm.]
I will do no such thing! Even if it's just a flower, it's still alive!
[Action]
Stand. Aside.

I'm glad that you liked it. -- Maybe Mr. Flower did too!

No, not always. Just when the mood strikes me, and these blossoms reminded me of the flowers I loved so much in Celestia.
